<p> <b>We are looking for four EVS volunteers for a 10-month
socio-cultural project in Karlovo/Bulgaria</b><br>
<br>
Project name: “Socio-culturalize me”<br>
<br>
<b>Project dates: 1st February 2013 – 30 November 2013</b><br>
<br>
Two of the volunteers will be helping the activities of the
Youth Information Centre and the Community Centre for Social
Support and two will be helping the local Cultural
institutions – the Community Centre and the Local Museums<br>
<br>
<b>Tasks of the two volunteers helping the activities of the
Youth Information Centre and the Community Centre for
Social Support</b><br>
<br>
- supporting the daily administrative work of the Youth
Information Centre and the Community Centre for Social
Support in Karlovo.<br>
- carrying out campaigns for the promotion of healthy
lifestyle among disadvantaged groups( Roma people esp.)<br>
- implementing local initiatives and projects; <br>
- helping the hosting organisation develop youth projects; <br>
- helping the hosting organisation in its regular daily
activities; <br>
- developing interest-groups with youth from the region;<br>
<br>
Creative/Artistic Projects: <br>
The volunteers will help the youth in developing art-related
or other interest-based projects depending on the local
situation and the youth’s need and interests.<br>
<br>
Expected learning outcomes:<br>
- non-formal and informal learning possibilities for the
personal development of the volunteers;<br>
- improvement of the Bulgarian and English language of the
volunteers through the informal conversations with the
youngsters, the mentor, the Bulgarian teacher and the local
people;<br>
- raised awareness on cultural, religious, social and
ethnical differences;<br>
- improved tolerance towards disadvantaged people-roma and
children with disabilities who will be using the services of
the Community Centre for Social Support;<br>
<br>
<b>Tasks of the two volunteers helping the activities of the
local cultural institutions – the Community Centre and the
Local museums</b><br>
<br>
- implementing art and culture projects<br>
- helping the organisation of cultural events in the town<br>
- forming groups of interests in the local library/community
centre<br>
- helping the cultural organisation with the development of
leaflets , promotional materials etc.<br>
- helping the cultural institutions develop new projects <br>
