              About the activities, <br>
              <p style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify"><span
                  style="font-size:11pt" lang="EN-GB">The volunteers
                  will be involved in the activities of one of the
                  mental
                  health residences of our organisation. The residence
                  operates to provide an
                  alternative way of living for people with mental and
                  intellectual disabilities.
                  This is happening through a therapeutical process done
                  by professionals but
                  also through routine activities (taking a coffee,
                  going for a walk, etc) and
                  creative activities (craftworks, painting, clay,
                  creative expression, theatre,
                  dance, singing etc). <br>
                </span></p>
              <p style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify">
              </p>
              <p style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify"><b><u><span
                      style="font-size:11pt" lang="EN-GB">Working days
                      and days off</span></u></b><span
                  style="font-size:11pt" lang="EN-GB">: Volunteers
                  will be working Monday to Friday (exceptional cases
                  Saturday/Sunday) a total of
                  30-35 hours a week.<span>  </span></span></p>
              <p style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify"><span
                  lang="EN-GB">Finally, we need to note that every week
                  they will have two days off
                  and</span><span style="font-size:11pt" lang="EN-GB"></span></p>
              <p style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify"><span
                  style="font-size:11pt" lang="EN-GB">2-4 hours for
                  greek lessons (12%)</span></p>
              <p style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify"><span
                  style="font-size:11pt" lang="EN-GB">20-25 hours in
                  the structure (67%)</span></p>
              <p style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify"><span
                  style="font-size:11pt" lang="EN-GB">8-10 hours in
                  other activities (conferences, magazine, sports,
                  excursions, visits, bazaars)
                  (21%)</span></p>
              <p
                style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB">The
volunteers
                  are expected in times to take part in other activities
                  organised by
                  EDRA such as holidays, bazaars, festivals, conferences
                  which are happening in
                  particular times of the year and for the moment we can
                  on speculate timing. We
                  have to mention that their presence is of assisting
                  nature. In case the
                  volunteer work exceptionally on the weekends, he/she
                  is entitled to a day off
                  during the weak. Still, we are open to suggestions
                  from our volunteers to take
                  own initiative and suggest activities after consulting
                  with professionals.</span></p>
              <span style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB"><span></span><b><u>Local
                    transportation</u></b>: Concerning local transport,
                the volunteers will be
                given each month money to buy a monthly card (45,00
                euros) that allows them to
                move freely within Athens by all means of public
                transportation (buses, metro,
                tram, trolley). </span>
              <p
                style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span
                  lang="EN-GB"></span></p>
              <p
                style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><b><u><span
                      style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%"
                      lang="EN-GB">Food and accomodation</span></u></b><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB">:
                  As about food
                  arrangements, volunteers are given 150 euros per month
                  in cash and are expected
                  to arrange their own alimentation with this money. The
                  volunteers are asked to
                  keep the receipts of food and return them at the end
                  of the month to the EVS
                  coordinator. Sometimes, food arrangement may also be a
                  combination of giving
                  the volunteer the possiblity of having a meal in
                  his/her working place and, or
                  providing the volunteer with<span>  </span>food (for
                  own cooking), plus an amount of money, accordingly.</span></p>
              <p
                style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB">Accommodation
is
                  arranged in an apartment of about 1</span><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-US">0</span><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB">0
                  m</span><sup><span
                    style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-US">2</span></sup><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB"><span> 
                  </span>in the area of </span><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-US">Gazi
                  in the
                  centre of the Athens</span><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB">,
                  one of the oldest, moving and beautiful areas of
                  central Athens, 2
                  minutes walk from the metro station “Keramikos” and
                  fifteen minutes walk from
                  Acropolis. </span></p>
              <p
                style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB"></span></p>
              <p
                style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><b><u><span
                      style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%"
                      lang="EN-GB">Linguistic support</span></u></b><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB">:<span> 
                  </span>Greek lessons are given 2-4 hours a week by a
                  private tutor in the flat and in the first weeks the
                  hours can double.<span>  </span></span></p>
              <p
                style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB"> </span><b><u><span
                      style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%"
                      lang="EN-GB">Vacations</span></u></b><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB">:
                  For every month of the
                  project, the volunteer is entitled to 2 days of
                  holidays, excluding bank
                  holidays. Holidays are always arranged in advance and
                  after consulting the
                  organisation. Upon arrival the volunteer is informed
                  about the Greek bank
                  holidays. </span></p>
              <p
                style="margin-left:0cm;text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB"></span><b><u><span
                      style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%"
                      lang="EN-GB">Other tasks and responsibilities of
                      the volunteer</span></u></b><span
                  style="font-size:11pt;line-height:115%" lang="EN-GB">:
                  The volunteer has to attend the on-arrival and
                  mid-term
                  seminars organizated by the Greek NA. The volunteer is
                  obliged to keep and give
                  back to the applicant organization the tickets (plane,
                  train, ect), bording
                  passes, receipts, or any other evidence of his/her
                  travel from and to his
                  country.<span>  </span>Finally, the volunteer, at the
                  end of the project, has to give to the applicant
                  organization his/her final
                  evaluation (final report) originally signed.<span>   
                  </span></span></p>
              <p style="margin:6pt 0cm 1pt;text-align:justify"><span
                  lang="EN-GB"> </span></p>
              <p style="margin:6pt 0cm 1pt;text-align:justify"><u><span
                    lang="EN-GB">Learning outcomes</span></u><span
                  lang="EN-GB">:</span></p>

                  style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">Briefly, In
                  the context
                  of their EVS, volunteers will gain the following
                  competences: </span></p>
              <p style="margin:6pt 0cm 1pt;text-align:justify"><u><span
                    style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">Interpersonal
                    and social
                    competences</span></u><span
                  style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">: Adaptability
                  to a new
                  socio-cultural working and living environment, coping
                  with new challenges,
                  team-working with colleagues, responsibility for
                  living together with a
                  multi-national team of volunteers, personal
                  development, capability of
                  financial management</span></p>
              <p style="margin:6pt 0cm 1pt;text-align:justify"><u><span
                    style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">Cultural
                    expression</span></u><span
                  style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">: Developing
                  cultural awareness of each other’s needs /
                  habits / customs in a multi-cultural setting</span></p>
              <p style="margin:6pt 0cm 1pt;text-align:justify"><u><span
                    style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">Communication
                    in mother
                    tongue and in foreign languages:</span></u><span
                  style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB"> Communication
                  and<span>  </span>social skills, negotiating in a
                  second
                  language (English), in certain cases teaching own
                  language, learning and/or
                  improving a new language (Greek).</span></p>
              <p style="margin:6pt 0cm 1pt;text-align:justify"><u><span
                    style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">Sensitazation
                    over social
                    issues, mental health issues:</span></u><span
                  style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB"> volunteers
                  will raise
                  awareness over social exclusion, mental health
                  problems, stigmatization of
                  people with mental health problems, being more open
                  and sensible to people
                  facing mental health problems</span></p>
              <p style="margin:6pt 0cm 1pt;text-align:justify"><u><span
                    style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">Knowledge</span></u><span
                  style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">: volunteers
                  will learn about different psychopathogies,
                  main symptoms, how they are expressed and recognized,
                  etc. Also, they will be
                  given the opportunity to see how mental health
                  services providing in Greece,
                  and especially psychosocial rehabilitation units. </span></p>
              <p style="margin:6pt 0cm 1pt;text-align:justify"><span
                  style="font-weight:normal" lang="EN-GB">In addition to
                  ensuring
                  effective mentoring for each volunteer, the
                  Co-ordinating Organisation will
                  take full responsibility for monitoring the whole
                  learning process –conducting
                  a thorough mid-term evaluation and issuing the
                  Youthpass upon completion of
                  each volunteer’s service.</span></p>
