*We are looking for four EVS volunteers for a 10-month socio-cultural 
project in Karlovo/Bulgaria*

Project name: “Socio-culturalize me”

*Project dates: 1st February 2013 – 30 November 2013*

Two of the volunteers will be helping the activities of the Youth 
Information Centre and the Community Centre for Social Support and two 
will be helping the local Cultural institutions – the Community Centre 
and the Local Museums

*Tasks of the two volunteers helping the activities of the Youth 
Information Centre and the Community Centre for Social Support*

- supporting the daily administrative work of the Youth Information 
Centre and the Community Centre for Social Support in Karlovo.
- carrying out campaigns for the promotion of healthy lifestyle among 
disadvantaged groups( Roma people esp.)
- implementing local initiatives and projects;
- helping the hosting organisation develop youth projects;
- helping the hosting organisation in its regular daily activities;
- developing interest-groups with youth from the region;

Creative/Artistic Projects:
The volunteers will help the youth in developing art-related or other 
interest-based projects depending on the local situation and the youth’s 
need and interests.

Expected learning outcomes:
- non-formal and informal learning possibilities for the personal 
development of the volunteers;
- improvement of the Bulgarian and English language of the volunteers 
through the informal conversations with the youngsters, the mentor, the 
Bulgarian teacher and the local people;
- raised awareness on cultural, religious, social and ethnical differences;
- improved tolerance towards disadvantaged people-roma and children with 
disabilities who will be using the services of the Community Centre for 
Social Support;

cultural institutions – the Community Centre and the Local museums*

- implementing art and culture projects
- helping the organisation of cultural events in the town
- forming groups of interests in the local library/community centre
- helping the cultural organisation with the development of leaflets , 
promotional materials etc.
- helping the cultural institutions develop new projects
