We are looking for EVS volunteers in our projects:

Casa TIFF - Inspiring Creativity

About the project:

Situated in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, CASA TIFF is a cultural center that 
has the objective of promoting cinematographic education and the need 
of expression through art, cultivating and developing the passion for 
film, photography, theatre, and visual arts in general.

Casa TIFF is a brand developed under the umbrella of the Transilvania 
International Film Festival ? TIFF, which was founded in 2002 and is 
the first international feature film festival in Romania. During these

eleven years, TIFF has become a well-known brand in Romania, not only 
due to the outstanding films screened every year, but also for the 
effective organization, sparkling atmosphere and density of events, 
from seminars, workshops and panels to fabulous concerts and all night

long parties. The last editions of TIFF have not only been 
spectacular, but also showcased an extremely generous and diverse 
offer of films and sensational events. The 2012 edition has broken all

the records, with 240 films from 46 countries, screened in the 13 
festival locations, attracting over 67.000 spectators during the ten 
days of the festival.

Duration of service: May 1st ? September 30th (5 months)

Number of EVS volunteers: 2 (two)

Proposed activities:
- logistic support for the artistic events hosted by Casa TIFF 
(concerts, screenings, contests, games etc.)
- animation for children involved in the artistic activities dedicated
to them
- promoting activities for the programmed events
- logistic activities during the 2013 edition of TIFF (May 31st ? June
9th)
- volunteers will be encouraged to propose new activities and will 
have the opportunity to get involved in the continuous development 
process of the program

About the project:

ADESCO has established a partnership with Bacau County Department for 
Youth and Sports (D.J.T.S.), which is organizing each year English 
learning workcamps for youth aged between 7-18 years. Some of the 
children come from disadvantaged environments. Grouped in series with 
the duration of one week, according to their age, the young people 
have the opportunity to enrich their knowledge of the English language

through conversation, games and other educational activities. The 
volunteers will be involved in this non-formal teaching process and 
will contribute to promoting different countries and cultures, and 
raise awarness upon European citizenship. The EVS volunteers will form

a team with Romanian volunteers in order to implement the activities.

Duration: June 1st ? September 30st 2013 (4 months)

Location:
The recreation center ?Valea Budului? is situated 15 km away from 
Bacau city, in a beautiful forest, with a North-West orientation from 
the ?Pietricica Bacaului? peak. Bacau is the main city of Bacau 
County, Romania. As of 2011 census, it has a population of 133,460, 
making it the 15th largest city in Romania. The city is situated in 
the historical region of Moldavia, at the foothills of the Carpathian 
Mountains. The activities will take place at the recreation center, 
but there will be opportunities to visit the city of Bacau and other 
surrounding areas.

Accommodation:
The volunteers will be hosted at the Guest House of the workcamp - 2 
floor mansion, with 4 rooms of 2 beds per floor, living-room at each 
floor, kitchen, bathroom. Meals will be served at the workcamp 
canteen. Volunteers with special diet or eating preferences must 
inform the organizers in advance upon their needs.

Activities:
- non-formal foreign languages courses (theory/exercises/educational 
movie session/literature reading)
- conversational courses, emphasizing on the daily vocabulary
- recreational activities (sports, outdoor games, short trips etc.)
- administrative activities (cleaning up, gardening etc.)
- initiating the youth in volunteering
- promoting the EVS program to Romanian volunteers, encouraging them 
to perform a service abroad.
